The Social Service Team of the School undertook an initiative ‘ Project Sangini’ to provide the female support staff members with necessary information about menstruation and also aid them with sanitary napkins every month. The didis and the female members of their families attended the session on menstrual hygiene. The aim was to break the taboos and end the stigma surrounding menstruation.
The teaching staff has committed to contributing money for sanitary napkins. The student volunteers staged a skit to dispel myths and taboos around menstruation. The Infirmary Staff gave a talk to throw more light on the hygiene practices to be followed and answered the queries of the attendees. The session ended with distribution of sanitary napkins.
