1st September 2019, Dehradun: Ecole Global International Girls’ School today announced that 35 students participated in the 18th Uttarakhand Open State Level Shooting Championship and won a total of 98 medals. The championship was held at Jaspal Rana Shooting Range, Dehradun from 25th to 31st August, 2019 where best sports schools participated.
The students participated in 22 different categories- 25mtr Sports Pistol and Standard pistol, 50m Open Sight Women,50m Open Sight Rifle Junior Women, 50m Peep Sight Rifle Women et al. and displayed their might and supremacy by winning 42 Gold, 30 Silver and 26 Bronze medals.
“Our girls have broken records in shooting proving their mettle in the state arena.The saying, ‘Hard work can help in achieving great aims’ is proved by the young sportspersons of our school as they brought laurels after laudable victory in the 18th Uttarakhand Open State Level Shooting Championship.
Being an open tournament, many eminent schools and clubs from Uttarakhand namely Doon Club, N.C.C. Cadets, Unison, Sela Qui, Army School, Clement Town,DPS Rishikesh, Roorkee, Haridwar and the like participated in this event. Mr. Jagdeep Singh, Director,Sports Department,Haryana, Mr. Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’, Mayor, Dehradun, Mrs. Sushma Singh,Vice President, Indian Rifle Association, Mr. Narayan Singh Rana, Director, State Rifle Association and Mr. Shiv Lal Dogra, HOD Sports and Shooting Coach , Ecole Global International Girls’ school were present at the event.
