Dehradun: Students from many city schools participated in a 2-daylit fest that began at the Ecole Globale International Girls’ School in Dehradun on Friday. Among the authors who interacted with students were novelists Durjoy Dutta and Ilika Ranjan. The major attractions of the event were a Harry Potter-themed stall and competitive activities with a literary twist like Twisted Fairy Tales, Paint a Thought, Spellathon, Dress as Your Favourite Character contest, etc.
There was also some non-literary carnival flavor in the form of a fortune teller’s stall, which was a source of much excitement for the participants.
Brinda Ghosh, principal of the school spoke of the relevance of the litfest. Expressing his pleasure at the enthusiastic response to the event, Amarjeet Singh Juneja, president, Ecole Globale, said that events like these were an indication of the younger generation’s renewed interest in the world of literature.
Students from schools like The Doon School, Welham Girls’ School, Kasiga School, RIMC, Purkul Youth Development Society, The Asian School, Selaqui International School and Vantage Hall were present during the day’s events.
