Union education minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank has announced CBSE date sheets and exams commence from 4 May 2021 and end on 11 June 2021 Ministers announced a date sheet with sets of Guidelines to be followed on examination day.
Covid-19 Pandemic has affected the education system in numerous ways not only children and teachers were forced to adopt online education as there was no chance of offline classes but it also made a huge changes in education system as traditionally it was fixed that the exam will be held in March and board exam can even go upto April however things have changed now as due to coronavirus pandemic Schools were forced to delay exams so that they can have extra time to study for the exams.But most of the boarding schools in India follow proper guidelines for cbse exams . As last year there was a possibility that Covid cases will rise in winters so the Government has to wait until winter before they decide when and how the exam will be scheduled.
When the Govt saw a reduction in Covid cases and people are being vaccinated it gave them hope to organise Board Exam with some Covid safety protocols. Students were anxiously waiting for the date sheets for the X and XII exams as they need to plan their study accordingly.
On 2 February 2021, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announced via his Twitter account that Board Exam for Class X will start from 4 May 2021 with ODIA , KANNADA and LEPCHA and end on 7 June 2021 with Computer applications exam whereas the class XII exams will begin on 4 May 2021 with the English Elective and English Core and ends on 11 June 2021 with ENTREPRENEURSHIP, BIOTECHNOLOGY, LIBRARY & INFO. SCIENCE,BEAUTY & WELLNESS, AGRICULTURE.
Class X exams will be scheduled for only one shift but class XII exam will be conducted in two shifts which will be morning shifts of 10:30 to 1:30 and evening shifts from 2:30 to 5:30 this is just to reduce the duration of board exams. Practical exam will start from 1 March till the theory exam date of that class.
Covid -19 protocols to followed during exams and all students are advised to wear face masks, Sanitize their hand and to maintain social distancing and schools will look after the safety protocols.
Important Guidelines for Class X students –
- Time duration for each exam is mentioned in Date sheets.
- Nonetheless Time duration for each paper/ subject as mentioned on the question paper will be followed ultra carefully.
- Answer sheets will be distributed to students between 10:00 am – 10:15 am
- Students will have to write their particulars in the answer sheets .
- Particulars will then be checked and signed by the Assistant Superintendent(s).
- After the Assistant Superintendent checked the particulars, than the question paper will be distributed to students at 10 : 15 am
- 15 minutes will then be given to students from 10:15 am –10:30 am to read the question paper.
- Question paper reading time is given so the Students can plan a proper strategy to write the answers.
- At 10:30 am candidates will start writing the answers.
- No enquiries about the date of result declarations will be attended.

- At 10:30 am ( morning shift ) / 02:30 pm ( afternoon shift ) students will start writing the answers.
- No enquiries about the date of result declarations will be attended.

Some important Tips for Boards exam Candidates from Teachers of Boarding Schools of India –
- Arrive Examination hall 20-30 minutes before so that students can be calm and focused on the exam rather than rushing at the last moment.
- Do not carry original copy Admit cards instead make 2-3 copies of admit card and use that till the end of examinations.
- Complete syllabus 1 month in advance so that you have enough time to revise and solve previous year question paper
- Improve Time management skills so that students can manage their time well and not get burdened by the syllabus.
