After the recommendation from New Education Policy, CBSE has updated its Affiliation process and in order to familiarise the school about the new process, CBSE will be organising a training via webinar from 9-13 March 2021.
Central Board of Secondary Education ( CBSE ) is restructuring its affiliation process making it more computerised, transparent as well as hassle-free and this restructuring will come into effect from 1 March 2021 and in order to make schools that are affiliated with CBSE familiar with the new affiliation process, CBSE is conducting a webinar for schools, boarding schools in India, and day boarding schools from 9 March 2021 to 13 March 2021 to clear all doubts regarding the restructured affiliation process. The registration for the webinar will start from 1 March 2021 till 8 March 2021 and the registration will be done online for these schools have to visit the official website of CBSE – cbse.nic.in
CBSE in their press release stated that webinar training session will commence from 9 March 2021 and it is divided into three categories in the First category only those schools will participate who have a fresh affiliation for approval of Middle-class syllabus, secondary level and senior secondary level and their webinar will be held on 2 days 9 March 2021, as well as 10 March 2021 from 11:00, am to 1:00 pm. The second Webinar will be held on 12 March 2021 for the Upgradation of Affiliation to Secondary and Senior Secondary level and the timing will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. The last Webinar will be conducted in two sessions for the Extension of Affiliation and other categories of Applications and the timing for the first session will be 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Whereas the timing for the second session will be 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
The CBSE has restructured its affiliation process after receiving recommendations for having a light but tight regulatory framework as per the National Education Policy new systematic reforms. As Secretary of CBSE Anurag said that the re-engineering of the affiliation process will make it simpler for all the schools who are affiliated with CBSE and this will lead to attaining the goal of having minimum government and maximum governance. The new affiliation process will be fully computerised and the decision will be made based on data and this will help achieve transparency, as well as more accountability in the entire systemic processes of CBSE Furthermore by making the affiliation process simple and quick application will be disposed of within time.
Moreover, Anurag informed that on CBSE official site they have released a detailed document on CBSE new school affiliation system and all information like documents required, guidelines for inspection committee, modalities and its Standard Operating Procedures for inspections. CBSE wants schools to familiarise themselves with the manuals before attending the training webinar.
Last year Due to Covid – 19 pandemic CBSE had created a facility to do an online inspection of schools for up-gradation of affiliation. This year CBSE is all set to start a facility centre where all queries related to schools and the inspection committee will get solved.
CBSE has also changed its norms for granting affiliation to schools by limiting their role and giving the duty to states for making infrastructure audit and to monitor the academic quality.
