The two day long Faculty Development Program was packed with sessions planned for In House deliberations along with those with outsourced faculty. Teachers spent very meaningful time chalking out Art Integrated activities, planning lessons, defining roles and responsibilities and planning the months ahead. The team from IRIS conducted sessions on POSH and Learning Disability.
The Workshop on Learning Disabilities was expertly led by Mr. Rajeev Bhatt, a highly experienced Psychologist, Child Safety Expert, and Learning Disability Expert with 18 years of dedicated work in the field of mental health and child safety. Mr. Bhatt shed light on the daily struggles faced by children with learning disabilities, allowing teachers to gain valuable insights and empathy. Through engaging activities, teachers were able to mirror the experiences of these children in the classroom. The workshop covered essential topics such as defining and understanding different types of learning disabilities, along with strategies to address diverse learning styles. Furthermore, the event emphasized that while learning disabilities cannot be cured, individuals can still achieve success in academics, work, relationships, and within the community with adequate support and intervention.
POSH training was conducted for the entire staff by Mr Apoorva Thakur. It addressed the handling and prevention of unacceptable behavior. The inquiry procedure and redressal mechanism in case of any violations was also explained.
