On May 2nd, staff and students had the privilege of attending a seminar featuring Lt. Cdr. Payal Gupta Rawat, NM (Retd). Lt. Cdr. Payal played a pivotal role as part of the all-woman crew aboard INSV Tarini, accomplishing the remarkable feat of becoming the first Asian team to circumnavigate the globe in an astounding 254 days. During her presentation, she shared insights into her expedition, the rigorous training that preceded it, the myriad challenges encountered, and the standout moments along the journey. Following her talk, a captivating discussion moderated by Ms. Astha Kumar provided a deeper dive into Lt. Cdr. Payal’s professional journey and personal ethos. An engaging Open House session ensued, during which the girls, eagerly inquired about her sources of motivation and her aspirations for the future. It was a delight for Lt. Cdr. Payal to reconnect with Ms. Shalini Rautela, her former English teacher from our esteemed faculty.
